After her mother died, Marina entered the monastery with her father. She disguised herself as a man, Marinos. A woman blamed her for her pregnancy, and she was expelled from the monastery. She miraculously nursed the baby. Her sex was discovered after her death. Among the Syrians, she was venerated by the Maronites.
