In hagiography: The patriarch Isaac became
bishop of Ḥarran by the
protection of the governor of the al-Jazira, ʿAbd
Allāh. Issac became Patriarch when ʿAbd Allāh became Caliph
Al-Mansur. But Al-Mansur had Patriarch Isaac killed and his body thrown into
the Euphrates.
