This paper concentrates on 17th-19th-century manuscripts in vernacular (modern Bulgarian) containing texts about this saint. Since most of the stories have apocryphal character, it is interesting how they were rendered in the vernacular in comparison with the medieval translation (into Old Bulgarian) and to what extent the language in the vernacular miscellanies was influenced by the language of folklore narratives and to what extent archaic literary lexemes were used in the process of adaptation of the medieval translation to the contemporary spoken Bulgarian of the 17th-19th centuries. Two versions of Acta Thomae in miscellanies of Josif Bradati (18th century) are edited.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
